Once it enters in their PC, it hijacks the browser’s settings or installs an add-on to the browser to track the user’s activity. However, they consider it an essential feature and don’t deselect. Most of the time, users can deselect the bundled software.

Once you get control of your machine, run every AV you can think of and then back up your data. Use a mac to format any usb device you might use to drag utilities onto the infected machine. It will replicate those to any device you connect to the infected machine. Also this thing put a bunch of files with names like "sexy.jpg". Next run MBAM and your regular AV. Also this thing created files to re-install itself after you take out the installed programs, so be on the look out for any folder with weird random names such as "qpxlu736thel" or the like. (There were others that we had to uninstall but I can't remember them). Check you installed programs and registry for Conduit, Whitesmoke or Coupon Printer. This would allow us to separate the good from the bad. We had to go into folder options and unhide all extension types. When you click on one of these icons/exe the virus responses by replicating itself to all machines it can find on the network. The really tricky part was it use names of folders that the machine already had. The virus affected one machine, hid all the folders and added exe's with icons that almost looked like windows folder icons. Not sure if you have the same virus we did, but here's what we experienced. We got one of these a few months back it took down our network for two days.
